:: Mount Kenya Climb (5 days) Reservation

 

day 1:
Depart Nairobi in the morning accompanied by our mountain guide. A brief stop over at the Equator then proceed to Nanyuki. Check in your hotel and after lunch spend the afternoon preparing for the hike. Dinner and overnight at Nanyuki, the base town of Mt. Kenya.

 

day 2:
After breakfast, transfer to Sirimon gate where you start your trek. Hike to Old Moses Camp through the rain forest for 9 kms (4 hour walk). Spend the night at old Moses Camp (3,300m).

 

day 3:
After breakfast you hike 17kms (8hrs) through Liki and Makinders valley to Shiptons camp (4,200m) Dinner and overnight here.

 

day 4:
Early in the morning you climb point Lenana (4,989m), on a very clear day you should be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro in the South, Mt. Elgon to the West and the Indian Ocean to the East. Descend to Shipton’s camp for breakfast then to Mackinder’s camp for overnight.

 

day5:
After breakfast, descend through Met-station to Naro Moru gate where you catch your vehicle to your next destination.

Special program on Mt. Kenya climb through Chogoria and Naro Moru routes can be arranged.

 

:: Mount Kilimanjaro Climb (7 days) Marangu (Kibo Route)Reservation

 

day 1:
Nairobi - Moshi Leave for Namanga border and after immigration clearance continue to Arusha for lunch.
After lunch depart for Moshi arriving late afternoon. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Moshi.

 

day 2:
Marangu gate (1980m) – Mandara hut (2700m) about 12 kms hiking time 5 hours.
After breakfast, transfer to Marangu gate.
You start your climb from this point through the fascinating rain forest for 5 hours to Mandara hut at 2700m above sea level.
Meals and overnight at the hut.

 

day 3:
Mandara hut (2700m) – Horombo hut (3720m) about 15 kms hiking time 6 hours.
After breakfast, carry picnic lunch and ascend for 5 hours through Alpine meadows to Horombo hut 3720m above sea level.
Here the altitude starts to be change and as you slow down your pace, you will be enjoying the flora and view of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.
Meals and overnight at Horombo hut.

 

day 4:
Horombo hut (3720) – Kibo hut (4700m) about 15 km hiking time 6 hours.
Breakfast around 7:00am then proceed with climb.
Landscape is now rocky and rugged and Lobelias begin to appear. Meals and overnight at the hut.

 

day 5:
Kibo hut (4700m) – Uhuru peak (5895m) – Horombo hut (3720m).
After a very early breakfast take a 6-hour climb through the very steep, most difficult and tiring part of the route to Gilmans Point.
An hour walk along the crater rim takes you to Uhuru peak.
Start the 6 hours descent to Horombo hut for dinner and overnight.

 

day 6:
Horombo hut (3720m) – Marangu gate (1980) about 27kms – 6 hours descent.
After breakfast, continue descending to Marangu gate where you will be picked up and returned to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.

 

day 7:
Depart Moshi/Arusha for Nairobi with immigration clearance at the border. Arrive Nairobi in the evening.
